OLD well he is nearly 80 🤔 STUBBORN well he frequently asked advice about various things on his car including what carburettors to fit and was advised not to go the Weber route as it could lead to other problems (which it did) but he completely ignored the advice.I call that stubborn 🙈 STUPID well if you bolt any part of your engine or its ancillaries to the bodywork and you even post pictures on a forum,I call that stupid.🤡 Sorry but I just wanted to set the record straight.Wasn't going to bother anymore but: Nice editing of your posts, you missed one!! You used the words OLD, STUBBORN and STUPID - repeatedly,

So what is your point. I already explained why you no rissin. Old is not derogatory it's a fact it comes to us all. If you have a problem with you are in denial. Stubborn Check out the meaning " having or showing determination not to change ones attitude or position on something. As I said for me, asking for advice and then totally ignoring it. Well that is my interpretation if it doesn't agree with yours sorry. Now we have to deal with the word stupid, As Said I wasn't the first person to use it but, I have no problem using the word if someone does something that is stupid, then they are stupid. I think it's stupid to crowd down to the beach when there is still a serious risk of cross infection with Covid. What would you say, " oh they are really really naughty people". As said I live and work in Spain and have done for over 32 years we don't do that PC shit I say things he way they are Spaniards don't appreciate the dos caras or Los dos enfrentados. I would hope that my friends appreciate that. Thank you so much for spending so much of your precious time trolling through my posts in order to try and embarrass me, but remember I have delt with the Spanish authorities for nearly half my life so with the greatest respect you wont even get to first base.

FFS. The guy doesn't post on here, or anywhere else now it seems. Staggard - one comment in response to the question "is he the guy who tied his pump to the wing" would have sufficed, but every post since then has elaborated and got more derogatory. Many are simply you re-quoting your own shit - a bit like keyboard torrets. Terry has "survived" out there with his car for many years. Looking back at his posts on the SOC forum he comes across as a genial sort of guy who does like to ramble on about his holidays, and as far as I can see has never had a bad or derogatory word to say about anyone. He left because of a couple of quite offensive posts by Seaking. There are as many threads and posts on this forum by people who seem to be bent out of shape about what others have done , many bordering on liable or slander or whatever the correct term is, as there are on the Stag and helping to fix problems. Not seen much of the great grean frog, sorry god, that was Kryten - he of so many years experience - apart from to vent at an ex soc member and a few others. FFS guys get over it and move on. The description of you as a 4 foot motormouth does seem to fit rather well and to me you come across as a disruptive a...hole. As TDM said on the other forum -you seemed to be the cause of a lot of the disharmony on the other forum, you seem to be intent on doing the same here. Someone posted something sensible on here somewhere - a first for this forum - regarding mental health and what "trolling" and abusive posts can do to some people - perhaps you should take time to consider it. Now I'm off to see if I can find a decent, reliable supplier of properly recon'd strombergs that haven't just had a quick soda blast to make them look good - don't suppose any of your mates are in that business are they? Well Johnp I stand by what I said . I have also spoken face to face with Terry we do not hold ill feelings towards each other over the said comments .So get over it. Are you a snowflake .

Yay and now Milf is having a woke fit of hysteria about me not moderating on this forum. he is already pissed off* because I might have had to moderate his arse over there. you just cannot help some folk
🤣
That said, I fear that Terry has been misguided and misinformed despite a whole forum offering him good solid factual advice. He wandered off alone and did almost the exact opposite of what folk were recommending. I lost interest very quickly. Like Wilf and all the chaps who "like" every single one of his posts, you just cannot help some folk. For the record Wilf - I am not Terry bashing, not that I give the slightest shit what you think to be absolutely frank.
Now in an attempt to drag this back to topic, Weber carb? on a Stag? why on earth would I want to do that?
I might have been tempted to a few years back before the Great War that destroyed the old forum. But then we all became aware of certain unfortunate side effects of this upgrade. They can be overcome at additional expense, and I fully accept that there are happy punters, I just cannot see the point.

The only point would be if it made a marked improvement in power or economy but there does not seem any data\ evidence of this. You cant in my opinion claim results, when you swop 50 year old carbs for any make of new one of course there will be an improvement but so there would be with correctly referbed and set up originals. As been said many times the only way is injection, whatever you stick on top of that manifold won't make any significant difference. Although you may well get a placibo effect after spending a grand, you would certainly have to tell the missis that it did.🤫🤔🙄😁

I have Stagdad old efi set up I aim to go full sequential file and spark . Running on a ms3 with ms3x card . That is now in the car . But at the moment stag is blocked in the GarAge by my pug306 I am changing the clutch a!l done I my to find the new pressure plate release bearing is fucked a!l seemed ok when fitted . It is a pull type clutch lurch from tucks behind the bearing . So just spent another few hours pulling it all to bits . Have pulled bearing soRt to find a spring washer that could not have been hardened properly . But missed as I purchased a valeo clutch as original fitment .managed 145k on it .

As an outsider looking in, I’d have to say that fitting EFI seems to be the best way to improve the car - I’m not talking mechanics etc. Bolting on another carburettor from something else seems to be the easy way out, but designing, building mapping, fabricating a whole different method of metering the fuel in to the engine is ambitious and requires dedication, skill and more importantly a mental attitude and flexibility that encompasses a willingness to learn and the courage to make mistakes, admit them and learn from them.
Webber’s are for people that think they know better, EFI for those that are better

Or of course you could always reconditioned the originals as pretty much all the parts are available or get a recon exchange set. Then you don't have worry about crankcase breathing systems.

I offered advice to Terry over the forum and by PM, but he generally ignored me and continued doing things that would only cause trouble. Its the main reason I never bothered contacting him when I was in Tenerife
