Well Terry is a fairly old guy and he is also proud\stubborn. He also tends to elaborate on the truth a bit, tends to believe that he knows and does more than he actually does. So he wanted to go to a classic show in Los Cristianos where he actually lives but his alternator packed up ( he could have done it on a charged battery) anyway I had a spare not sure if it was any good but I said that I would swap it for him. There was no way I was doing it from underneath so on taking off the power steering pump the threads were Donald so when it went back on I left it to finally tighten up the bolts.when he got back home he decided to bolt the pump to the inner wing to help support it.

Love it. I remember when I was a lad with a fizzy, a bloke I knew was “getting in to tuning” “how so?” says I “I’m going to de-pork that bit” he says pointing in the general direction of his engine. I0 mind later he’s filing the fins off.

He also wrapped a dogs choke chain collar around the pump so the tensioner had something to hook on to

It is a shame, If I recall I believe he said that a F1 mechanic advised him to do it. Terry and his car is a very sad story, it all started with a leaking needle valve and instead of just replacing that he decided to overhaul the carbs. And from there on with the help of a couple of British owned garages managed to turn his car into a barn find. I dread to think who has got it now. There's a old Spanish guy here who owns a fairly large well equipped garage who employs around 6 good mechanics. He also is the president of the classic car club and has around 8 classics that he has restored including a LHD Stag. If he didn't want me to help it was suggested to take it to him. But no he decided to use people who know nothing about the car. One keeping it for 6 weeks and the other for 5 months and when the last one said that his engine oil leak was from the cooler which they removed to be replaced, which happened to be the gearbox cooler. I was no longer a member of the SOC so was unable to post so through seaking he wrote if they cant tell the difference between TQF and engine oil get your car out of there. The reply was " no they are really good and they haven't charged me anything yet. Some people you cannot help.

Oh dear, it looks like I've been and upset Terry now. He has put a post on the SOC forum saying that I'm a sad person, strange as I feel quite happy given the circumstances. And what has been written is liablius, by saying that he is old, stubborn, and stupid. So I feel I should address his complainant's in case he feels like dropping in this forum for a quick peek again. OLD well he is nearly 80 🤔 STUBBORN well he frequently asked advice about various things on his car including what carburettors to fit and was advised not to go the Weber route as it could lead to other problems (which it did) but he completely ignored the advice.I call that stubborn 🙈 STUPID well if you bolt any part of your engine or its ancillaries to the bodywork and you even post pictures on a forum,I call that stupid.🤡 The rest of the story is correct and can be followed step by painful step from his blow by blow account on the SOC forum. He stopped posting because he was asked to move his posts about his holiday's, family, medical history ect ect to the non Stag section. As he tended to use it as a Facebook page, Spat his dummy out and said he would never post again. Sorry but I just wanted to set the record straight.

Perhaps the "Fit and forget" statement doesn't mean use of the car.

Staggard: you’ve done the guy a service by pointing out his flaws. I often have my flaws pointed out several times a day and each day I strive to improve myself and thereby draw closer to god.
Terry: if you’re reading this - it’s called personal growth - you’re never too old. I myself have responded positively to such criticism and much better at being a dasadrew because of it

FFS. The guy doesn't post on here, or anywhere else now it seems. Staggard - one comment in response to the question "is he the guy who tied his pump to the wing" would have sufficed, but every post since then has elaborated and got more derogatory. Many are simply you re-quoting your own shit - a bit like keyboard torrets. Terry has "survived" out there with his car for many years. Looking back at his posts on the SOC forum he comes across as a genial sort of guy who does like to ramble on about his holidays, and as far as I can see has never had a bad or derogatory word to say about anyone. He left because of a couple of quite offensive posts by Seaking. There are as many threads and posts on this forum by people who seem to be bent out of shape about what others have done , many bordering on liable or slander or whatever the correct term is, as there are on the Stag and helping to fix problems. Not seen much of the great grean frog, sorry god, that was Kryten - he of so many years experience - apart from to vent at an ex soc member and a few others. FFS guys get over it and move on. The description of you as a 4 foot motormouth does seem to fit rather well and to me you come across as a disruptive a...hole. As TDM said on the other forum -you seemed to be the cause of a lot of the disharmony on the other forum, you seem to be intent on doing the same here.
Someone posted something sensible on here somewhere - a first for this forum - regarding mental health and what "trolling" and abusive posts can do to some people - perhaps you should take time to consider it.
Now I'm off to see if I can find a decent, reliable supplier of properly recon'd strombergs that haven't just had a quick soda blast to make them look good - don't suppose any of your mates are in that business are they?

I’m here thanks John, still no god complex yet - came on here using my experience of being renamed by a couple of spiteful c@nts on the SOC committee who thought that my request for removal of my personal information and profile from the forum was risible, and renamed me GDPR.
Frankly, thought your comment was very much in line with what you say others do - maybe troll somewhere else eh?
Might find that difficult though because looks like Fuss has fucked it up again and the SOC is down - again
love and kisses Ex Kryten
