Hi Just wondered if any one has upgaded there radiator using a modern car radiator,i know the important bits are size/capacity and water fins design, most modern cars nowdays have better size water fins as technoloy moves on
A mod ive done on the Sprint was use a radiator from a Saab, any thoughts

Why do you want to change it Dave, the standard fit rad, if free of silt and debris, is more than up to the job for every day use.

I went for a TH rad and it was an improvement over the standard as mine was leaking, had a ever to be mentioned tank as well, during later work fitting headers it was necessary to move the alternator and remove the tank, so an ally rad was fitted for a planned continental trip. This has proved to be a step up again in cooling efficiency

My car is fitted with a supposedly up rated rad fitted by the PO 11 years ago at least, looks stock to me? . Most of the time the car runs with the needle about a 1/3 on the gauge sitting in traffic or making progress on a motor way it moves up a bit but I've only ever seen it over the 1/2 way once when in the Malvern Hills and the ambient was in the high 20's. I have a 2 speed kenlowe fitted that has never cut in except when I make sure it still works, and I fitted the Wards header tank when I needed to replace the original expansion bottle due to it drawing in air. I also have the secret spoiler fitted, given to me by I friend. that definitely has a slight cooling benefit at higher road speeds.
