Alien forces have taken over te SOC forum. Why in the world do you want a handbrake that has a quick release feature that doesn't fucking work very effectively in the first place.

Not entirely sure what you are getting at. I agree that the idea of converting the handbrake lever to a flyoff type is a bit strange but I don't understand the comment about not working well to start with. The Stag handbrake is OK if properly adjusted and there is no wear in all the bits. Mine will lock the wheels on a dry road. I thought this forum was all about tolerance, if someone wants to play with the idea, and keep in mind Richard uses his Stag as a daily, and enters Hill climbs and other competitive events which is more than most of us do, then what is the problem.
Just saying, not looking for a fight.... Smiley ☺

Personally I wouldn’t covert to a fly off, as what you gain you also lose. I would fit (and keep the standard one), and nearly did, a Hydraulic hand brake. Does the same same job but better and you still have a proper hand brake for when you need it. Plus there so easy to fit.

How would you do that, by fitting another wheel cylinder in to the top of the back plate?

No Graham - break the line to the back brakes, and put a clutch type master cylinder in line - when the lever is applied it just hydraulics the rear brakes, but when off the hydraulics just pass through to the rears as normal.
You can buy a kit complete with lever - the drifting boys use them
