Sorry, that is the opening line for a respectful Brit. So your dads Stag was a pile of crap and you have no love for the car. SO why are on here because we as Stag owners are fully aware of the faults of the car but we are happy to live with them because we actually love them. I will try to put that into perspective for you. Now your wife could be the ugliest bitch in the world but to you she is beautiful and if anyone tried to bad mouth her you would defend her.So people who have spent there time loving restoring their cars with their own bare hands feel the same way about their cars.I don't expect you to understand this but I do expect you to respect it.

Staggard: that’s a reasonable level of ire you have rising there. Firstly my Dad’s stag was a pile of shit because it was thrashed, abused, never maintained and only bodged. I loved it (well I do now, I didn’t then). I find the car beautiful and love the noise. Why shouldn’t I be on here?
I resent the assumptions, insinuations and judgements you make about my relationship with my missus - to the best of my knowledge you never tried her food.

Hello fellow mostly Pommy Stag owners. This is a happy funny forum and unlike lots of others quite appealing by not taking itself too seriously. Good to let your hair down a bit here. Funny to hear about some up tight people back there; we have plenty here as well but not as bad.
Aussie Stag owner since 1992. After a daily driver car now in the garage for many years having lots of love applied. I cannot and do not want to play golf so my hobby is taking as long as I like bloody well like to restore this car despite lots of smart arse know it all's teasing me about how long this is taking; who cares, I'm happy to be an anal perfectionist.
Body and paint done, carpets done, rewire done, new engine in and done (spare that I found), I wanted a freezing cold AC system and nearly done, I wanted a high end stereo system with lots and lots of speakers and lots and lots of amps with a big mongrel screen and nearly done, I wanted Bilstein inserts and done, I wanted a big alarm and done, I could go on but probably boring..
Look forward to lots more entertaining posts!

Are you a disgruntled SOC member? if you are, then do as I did and walk away from it and those on a power trip or just plain two faced. Reading back I owe you an apology and I jumped in too fast. It was a culmination of you saying that " your dads Stag was a pile of shit " not something an enthusiast wants to here, and this dasadrew all8 attacking people who put photos of their car on here without any provocation. Also I did not mean to disrespect your wife I was trying to make a parallel example.
