Saw this article and thought why would someone deliberately do this.

I read it because I thought how could someone do that to something is part of our national Heritage.
Then you think well it might have just happened when they trying to climb it, perfectly innocent just an accident. Followed by "shit did anyone see us, no, run away"
But then he got me thinking when I read that the tree is been fenced off for 40 years and no one had been allowed to climb it or even get too close.
Know I know some of you on here will possibly remember it as a as a Sapling or even Acorn. The article just made me feel real old because I can remember climbing all over tree and going inside it, there was no fence not even plaque. That must have been over 40 years ago.
