As it seems we have now come out of winter, due to having had a few sporadic really nice sunny days, albeit a bit cold. With summer just over the horizon, many people are taking the dust sheets off of their stags and getting them out of hibernation.
It’ll be interesting to know what needs to be done to your stag before, he/she, goes out on his first 2021 journey. Alternately, what you had to do prior to your First journey. Or even what minor niggle, or issue, raised its head on that maiden voyage.
Do you have any plans, good trips, or even journeys planned for later in the year, for when the whole world will hopefully be out of lockdown.

Took my Mk1 for its MOT last week. It passed but the front discs were rather corroded so the brake balance was marginal. Got those sorted, but decided the tyres need changing as they are getting hard and I can lose the back end rather too easily.
The Minilite alloys were getting a bit crusty in places, I had the old tyres removed so I could rub down and repaint them before the new tyres are fitted. Just finished painting them today (hopefully removing the masking tape will leave the paint attached underneath) so will order some new tyres next week when the paint has hardened. Also need a new set of nuts as the chrome is mostly rusty on the old ones.
Want to get it on the rolling road again to see if anything has changed in the last 4 years before it gets its new inlet manifold fitted. how it performs will decide the specification for the next engine build that will end up in my MK2.
That should keep me busy this year!

For my stag I took it out on a, very, very, short trip, almost like a shakedown, that highlighted a few issues to get done before I start using it properly. So as a result I have up-graded the front brake pads, replaced a couple of brake lines, flushed the brake system and re-bled. Sorted out (fingers crossed) a power steering leak, that’s been always one of those niggles, that you couldn’t fix/find. Hopefully, sorted out some of those small oil leaks/drips. New wheel nuts so they are now all the same.
There’s still a long to-do list

When I was doing my normal trawl through eBay, I noticed that there was considerably higher number of triumph stags coming out of long-term hibernation. Sort of 10 or 20 years of hibernation. Some will need a massive amount of work, while others need a lot of work.
I know they’re all classed as barn finds, but that is quite a broad brush nowadays, but nevertheless people still seem to be finding them. It’s still odd, that someone just forgot that they put their once beloved car, in a building of some sort, and completely forgot about it. Hopefully, someone will buy them, restore them, and get them back on the road.
