With all the stuff that’s been going on, pretty much around the world, in the last year. All the restrictions, whatever impact they have on you, your family, your life. there always those little things make everything slowly dissolve away to nothing.
for me it was finally fitting and installing my hot tub, it’s not really a hot tub more a small posh outside bath. It took a day to heat up, as the outside temperature was 2°C and the water wasn’t much more. Eventually it hit 40°C. Armed with a bottle whiskey sitting in that warm bath was just amazing. The outside temperature dropped to -2° C, with a clear night its amazing to sit there chilling out and just look at the stars. Not a care in the world. Well there was just one after about three hours in there and 3/4 of a bottle I needed a wee.
But karma got is own back on me as I think I got in there a bit too soon, before the chemical started working as I believe I’ve got a bacterial blood infection now. You couldn’t make it up.

Well I think I see the funny side of it, that’s if it was meant to be funny or ironic, but with every good thing comes a bad thing. With every bad thing comes a good thing.
With a cloud has a silver lining.
Completely agree with you that sitting in a hot tub does relax the mind and body completely. Add to that, alcohol of any destruction, just multiplys that by an infinitive amount. It’s good to see that you had a way to relax in this trying period.
I would love to have the opportunity to do the same in my house, garden, bathroom. But never thought of getting one installed in my house which I should’ve done. I did think about it the other day about getting one installed, and my local top installer hot tub installer said that the demand for hot tubs is out stripped the supply, and people are demanding higher prices for secondhand POS.
Seems like you are lucky to get one that worked even if you did try to kill you. But it’s like you said it’s karma baby.

A few years back we sailed to New York on the QM2, it was 6 days at sea, on about day 4 mid Atlantic, we put our costumes on and dressing gowns and walked to the 2 open air hot tubs at rear of the ship and did similar. It was freezing cold on your face and lovely and warm in the water, this was about 10pm, we had it all to ourselves it was amazing. Some of the other passengers looked at us thinking we were mad.
We have an inflatable hot tub in the garden that comes out most years for a few months, we paid about £500 for it and it will heat the water to 38 within a day then its just a case of keeping the chemical balance adjusted to keep the water healthy.

A few years ago I was on holiday in the USA with my sister (who lived out there) and some friends. we stopped in a hotel up in the mountains somewhere in West Virginia. The hotel had a hot tub and even though the air was below freezing it was lovely in there, though it did seem quite weird when it started to snow! Neil

They’re best used in the winter. Had mine almost 10 years and find it best when the weather is cold. I tend to fall asleep in it though and wake up when my face hits the water!
