Just try sort out my hardtop and put the front locking lever is back on for some reason the bolts don’t seem to wanna go in properly. Now I’m sure these are exactly the same as the ones I’ve got I the soft top but they don’t fit. I’m sure these are the same ones I took out as well.
Are there two types of bolts different.
I was just at the stage prior to launching the hardtop outside, well I did hear a noise inside the hardtop. So take it, triumph in their infinite wisdom placed some sort of captive screw bracket that’s held in place by witchcraft. Witchcraft in this case seems to have worn out ages ago I was allowed the bracket that I need to be floating around inside the hardtop trim.
If there’s any advice which will allow be to return the bracket to its rightful place, without having to rebuild the hard top that would be help.

There are two type of handle. one with tapered locating pin and the other has a rounded end. AFAIK they are interchangeable. You could try some Riv-Nuts in the hard top.

Yeah, that’s a pretty much what I did get a rivet nut gun and some rivet nuts, squeeze them into the roof. Then got some M6 countersunk bolts. When I finished bolting the locking handles on I could still hear the old loose nut adapters sliding around the roof. I think the rivet gun is something that I should’ve bought years ago, i now can see loads of places it can be used. And this will easily get away with using nuts and a spanner, trying extremely hard to get it onto the end of a bolt which you just cannot see.
