Just as an observation why are some traders deemed untouchable, let's say have deity status.
On the other forum we have seen it time after time, good folk defending a supplier and it all happens within the space of the thread. No flagged posts, no throwing toys out of the pram, no hissy fits. For instance Mick at EJ Wards has recently taken a right shoeing in a public facing thread, lots of defence, not one flagged post
However one mention of stag weber and all hell breaks loose, usually from one of the usual three forum members who take up most mod time. flagged posts and all manner of accusations flying around via PM
what the actual fuck
Am I missing something?
Please don't turn this into a stagweber kicking as that is not my intention

Unfortunately there are a small group of members (one I believe has the only flying Stag) who seem to have taken on the role of being the moral police for the SOC. From what I read above I can only assume they are still at it? Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong in having an opinion or different view but these people seem to be full time members of the new Snowflake society that exist now and are not able to accept we are all different with different opinions and takes on things and also have right to post it.
I can honestly say, before I gave up on the SOC and walked away. Anything I posted was based on actual facts, first hand experiences or just plain knowing it was true. Invariably those that started a handbag swinging session only knew half the facts but would don their moral magic cloaks and stir the Poo.
Wild horses wouldn't drag me back on there. There is a thriving Stag community outside of the SOC and many small private groups who support the car and its owners. In fact, I'm lucky enough to be a member of two of these. We even funded our own private forum which is a closed, invite only platform. The SOC will not change until its membership changes in my opinion.
Just my take and views, based on my personal experience of being a member previously. I will add though I have to thank the SOC for the introduction to some great people who I now have the privilege of being great personal friends with.

Yep that is me Mr SapphireStag
They don't get to me but honestly dealing with a playgroup of cranky toddlers fuelled by a sack of skittles and some redbull would be easier than dealing with some of these grown up men

This was my first hand experience from my SOC days and getting involved in running our local area activities. Another thing I walked away from as it was a thankless task.

Much my thoughts too - getting binned by the pathetic excuse Carl used, plus the lack of any respect from the google mechanics on SOC gave me plenty reason to shove SOC right up their own fundaments - especially the ineffective and lily-livered webmaster
It is no different to what I said to Carl on the phone when he called me - spiteful little.....

Not only that but meet them in the pub, obviously in a group of 6 or less, and they nod approvingly at everything that has been said. Then bitch about it behind your back. More faces than Big Ben, or so it might appear. Over the decades I regularly come across these folk, best thing is to ignore them or hit the old unsubscribe button.

"best thing is to ignore them or hit the old unsubscribe button".
Exactly what I did, and didn't renew my membership. In my experience there were two moderators who are no longer in place that were also two faced, in my opinion you are quite fair minded from what I've seen, an asset to the SOC forum. There was a 3rd that got hounded out prior to that. From what I've seen there has been some very bad treatment of individual members over the past few years, but's that's how they run it and I decided it was something that I didn't want to be a part of.
There was also Ian Pennycote, he was personal friend of mine and I helped him when he bought the "Magent Marvel" and used to meet up at local car shows. He sadly died,he contributed a lot to the forum but only about 6 of us went to the trouble of taking our cars to his funeral at his families request.

Bet I can guess which ones they’ll be Richard - milf for one? The self righteous bully with the little man syndrome, who sends abusive PMs to members he does not agree with.

That’s the one - spouts about fairness on thread and sticks it to you by pm - I would hate to be one of his workers

Yep, been there, and when I reported it through the proper channels I got another asking me what part of "Private Message" didn't I understand.
I did get a reply from admin saying they had asked him to contact me to explain / apologise ?, but that never happened.

It does amuse me that an individual on the other forum cannot see the hypocrisy in their argument.

I’m glad to be out of it. It’s a dying club. Ageing members who just want to have a drive out to a garden centre for coffee, no thanks. It’ll be gone in 5-10 years
